Hey all, here's the structure for a second essay for this week:

1.  In literature, the way an author reveals information about a character is critical to the development of the story.  Miss Brill by Katherine Mansfield and Eleven by Sandra Cisneros are two stories where the development of the main character is arguably more important than the plot of the story itself.  Write a well-developed essay in which you compare and contrast the character development styles of Cisneros and Mansfield in these pieces.

The scaffolding:

1.  How does Cisneros reveal information about Rachel in Eleven?

Find two examples of this in the text.  Why do these examples reveal Rachel's character especially well?

2.  How does Mansfield reveal information about Miss Brill?

3.  Is there anything about how you learn about these characters that's similar?  Is there anything about how you learn about these characters that's different?
