English Literature and Composition

In this course, we will study a variety of works of American and British literature (16th Century through Present Day), discuss the works at a high level, and analyze the works through written compositions. This course is designed to prepare students to help succed on the Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition Exam (Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 8 am); as such, this course will run from September to May. Throughout the course, students should be writing several times a week (with frequent practice on Test Writing Prompts), with the opportunity to study and explore a variety of full length multiple choice tests. Students will also be asked to read one or more novels of literary merit on their own, write about them and discuss them with the class.
